Animal Radiology in Harrisburg

State-of-the-Art Equipment for Better Outcomes

As pets age, they often develop conditions that can only be detected through imaging technology. At Animal Hospital of Dauphin County, we use modern imaging and radiology equipment to obtain clear results that inform our treatments for your furry loved one. Whether they’re dealing with a fracture, a respiratory illness, or organ failure, our friendly veterinarians and staff offer effective, compassionate care to get them feeling better.

When Your Pet Should See a Radiologist

Our radiology department has an in-house x-ray which allows us to quickly diagnose problems not found by physical examination or blood testing.

These conditions can include:

  • Bladder stones
  • Dental problems
  • Fractures
  • Heart defects
  • Intestinal foreign bodies
  • Intestinal issues
  • Tumors

We can also take radiographs of the skeletal system, spine, heart and lungs, abdomen, and skull. Our radiology team then helps our veterinarians plan for the right treatments and help your pet feel better as soon as possible.

Complete Care from Beginning to End

Once testing is complete, our veterinary team will review the results and make a diagnosis. In some cases, anesthesia is used so we can make sure we get the clearest view of the problem area. In some cases, your pet may need an ultrasound for a clearer analysis, and we offer that service, too. For pets in need of surgery, you can rest assured you will have trained surgical experts to take excellent care of your family member.

If we find that your dog needs rehabilitation, our canine rehabilitationist, Dr. Ekenrode, CCRT and Marah Eimer, CVT, CCRP, are on-site and available to you. They offer minimal impact services to help our patients regain mobility and rebuild strength in the affected areas.
